Privacy Policy
Gignam (“we”, “us”) provides a personal timeline for reflection — a map of finite weeks, intentions, and moments you choose to record. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under Brazil’s LGPD (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados).
Who is responsible
The controller of personal data processed through gignam.me and app.gignam.me is Gignam. For privacy requests, contact info@gignam.me.
What we collect
- Account. Email address and authentication data when you sign up with email or a provider (Google, Apple).
- Profile. Name, birthday, expected lifespan setting, direction and anti-direction text, life-area priorities, and similar onboarding choices you enter.
- Journal & intentions. Notes, landmarks, weekly intentions, and any media you attach to weeks — only what you create in the app.
- Preferences. Theme, accent, cloud-sync consent flag, and product settings needed to run the service.
- Technical. Basic device and usage signals needed for security, auth sessions, and (where enabled) anonymized analytics such as page views.
We do not require your journal content to use advertising profiles.
Why we process data
- To create and secure your account.
- To sync your timeline across devices when you use the cloud-backed app.
- To provide the product features you request (map, intentions, captures, insights).
- To improve reliability and understand aggregate product usage.
- To comply with law and respond to lawful requests.
Legal bases under LGPD include consent (account creation and cloud sync) and performance of a contract (providing the service you signed up for). You may withdraw consent for cloud storage in Settings; some features then remain local only or become unavailable until you consent again.
Where data lives
Account and synced content are stored with our infrastructure providers, including Supabase (authentication and database) hosted for the production app. Access is restricted by account-level security (including row-level policies so users only reach their own rows). Providers process data under their own terms and safeguards.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with processors that help us run the service (hosting, auth, payments if you subscribe), when required by law, or with your direction. We do not use private journals to train foundation models without an explicit, separate consent for that purpose.
Retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. If you request erasure, we delete or anonymize personal data from active systems within a reasonable period, except where law requires longer retention (for example billing records).
Your rights (LGPD)
You may request to:
- Confirm whether we process your data
- Access and correct your data
- Anonymize, block, or delete unnecessary data
- Portability of data you provided, where technically reasonable
- Information about sharing with processors
- Withdraw consent
- Review automated decisions that exclusively affect you, when applicable
Email info@gignam.me. You may also contact the Brazilian data protection authority (ANPD) if you believe your rights were violated.
Children
Gignam is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child created an account, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised policy.
